  Quick Tips   Reading Room
Light Resistance
Everyone loves a light-flooded room, but too much sunlight is tough on draperies, upholstery and rugs. The sun's ultraviolet rays will eventually cause all fabrics to deteriorate and fade or yellow. You can slow such effects by choosing fibers with extra UV-light resistance. Acrylics and polyesters are most UV resistant; linen, cotton, rayon and acetate have medium resistance. Silk, wool and nylon should be kept out of direct sunlight if at all possible and last longest in rooms with moderate or filtered light.
